Coming from a medical professional background, I have met lots and
lots of doctors. Dr. Powers is thus far the ONLY doctor I
wholeheartedly recommend to my closest friends and family. He
delivered both of my sons, and has been our OB GYN since his Texas
Tech days. He is thoughtful, caring, concerned, patient, funny, and
absolutely the best doctor in every sense I have ever met. If you are
having trouble deciding on a doctor, just make one appointment to see
what an amazing professional Dr. Powers is. We love you!

From the moment we met Dr. Powers and his staff we knew we would get first class service. My husband and I were beyond impressed with the professionalism and care. Dr. Powers answered any and every question we had, our appointments were timely, and we knew we were in good hands. Dr. Powers is one of the best doctors I have ever had. I switched from
another OB to Dr Powers in my 1st trimester with my second child. His
bedside manner was so kind and patient.
At 34 weeks I began measuring a little small. Dr. Powers, being very
proactive, sent me to the hospital to have some tests run. All the tests
came back ok but the baby’s belly was a little small. It was Friday
at 6 o’clock but he went out of his way to call me at the hospital
to reassure me that everything is ok for now and that he would see me
next week to see how things were going.

At the next appointment the baby’s heart rate began dropping. Next
thing I know I’m having a c-section. The baby was four weeks early
and my husband is out of town. Dr. Powers, knowing how worried I was
about the baby and being by myself, literality held my hand in the OR.
The baby had the cord wrapped around his neck. Thank the Lord Dr.
Powers had the foresight to know that something was not right.

The baby was rushed to the NICU.  Dr. Powers went in and took a picture
on this phone for me to see my baby. There are no words to describe
how grateful I am to Dr. Powers for not taking any chances and getting
the baby out when he did. Things could have turned out very
differently . He is truly one of the most considerate people I have
ever had the pleasure of working with. I can’t recommend him enough.

Both Kailey and I would like to thank Dr. Powers for taking excellent care of us. You truly are a great doctor and made this a wonderful experience for me and my family. I was referred by The Pregnancy Help Center, I was scared and
surprised about my pregnancy, with no family in town and clueless
about good doctors, so I went, hoping the best, and right away i felt
safe, in good hands. Dr. Powers explained to me every little detail,

I really enjoyed the care I had through out my pregnancy. The best part of it was the attention I had from Dr. Powers. I was always aware of what was going on and my questions were always answered. I honestly felt I was in great hands. I will definitely go back for my next pregnancy!

Before I met Dr. Powers, I was brokenhearted and a wreck. I cried many
times without my family knowing. I had gone to a different
gynecologist to get assistance as to why I wasn’t getting pregnant.
The recommendation was made by a family member. Though, I was told by
my family member not to choose the person I was assigned too. I was
told to change to the person she wanted me scheduled with. I thought
to myself, that I would give this person a chance. When I went for my
visit to my surprise I was told I was pregnant. They immediately
wanted to do an ultrasound. So they did. As they did the ultrasound, I
wasn’t told anything verbally. They sent me to a room and then I was
told my fetus did not have a heartbeat and I needed a D and C the
following day. I kept getting phone calls to schedule my D and C
consecutively day after day. I went to the library and did some
research because I wanted God to help me out and do the right thing. I
prayed to God and asked if he can lead me to a doctor that could take
care of me, my emotional pain, and if I needed to do a D and C. He
could see to it what needs to be done. As confused as I was, when they
did the first ultrasound they failed to tell me how many weeks I was
along in pregnancy. I was shocked when Dr. Powers asked me that. I had
to kind of guess my own calculations. When I met Dr. Powers, he
immediately accepted my visit and the staff was very professional on
the phone. He definitely has the patience, ability to listen to women,
and the caring for all his patients in the utmost levels. I went for
my visit with him. He did an ultrasound and my baby had a heartbeat. My
heart felt so happy. He said, “Aren’t you glad you didn’t do a D and
C?” I almost wanted to cry. I knew the first day I met him that he was
the doctor for me. I will forever be grateful to him because he helped
me when I was really down and in great need. I know I’m in great
hands. By the way, I am 37 years and waited many years to get pregnant
because of completing college and working, having a home, enjoying the
married life and having a stable income were priorities. This will
be my first baby.

From the day I walked into Dr. Powers’ office I was sure we had met the
right man to deliver our miracle baby. We had been told a few months
prior that we wouldn’t be able to have another baby and then on fathers
day we found out he was coming. I was a little bit of a crazy mom to
be and Dr. Powers addressed every worry and concern. He treated me
with respect and personal care. He even showed concern for my other son
as he was showing jealousy issues before the baby was born. The day I
called his office concerned by lack of fetal movement and that i was
seeing spots and had a migraine that would not go away, he told me to
come in right away. They monitored Max and then sent us for more test
at Las Palmas. Needless to say I had a great delivery experience even
though it was emergency and unscheduled. Dr. Powers treated us with the
utmost care and concern just like if it was our scheduled delivery
date. I would send any of the army families that I know to Dr. Powers.
There is not enough that I can say in thanks for our little miracle
getting here and being so healthy from the care for my diabetes to the
help understanding my blood disorder. He is one of the best doctors I
have met in El Paso and being a military wife I don’t get much safe
secure trust in people here and Dr. Powers and his staff and hospital
team made it all OK. With many thanks and gratitude more then they
will ever know.

I was referred to Dr. Powers after having a bad experience with the staff at my previous obgyn. Now I am actually thankful that happened! I have never felt more comfortable at any doctors office. From the beginning Dr. Powers was attentive and kind, willing to answer any questions and work with my birth plan. I never felt rushed or pressured to do anything (be induced) I didn’t want to. I had a rather traumatic experience w/my first OB, and when I got pregnant w/ my second child, Dr. Powers was recommended. What a different experience! He was attentive, helpful and confidence inspiring through what became a sad experience of a miscarriage and then a joyous next pregnancy and delivery! Great practice!!!! I was pregnant with my first child and had a lot of questions. I never felt rushed. Dr. Powers always took the time to sit down and answer all my questions. Dr. Powers is a very nice doctor who truely shows how he cares about his patients. He was my first OBGYN and the doctor who delivered my first baby, I could not be happier because as a first time mother he made everything so much calmer for me and took good care of me and my baby. Dr. Powers and his staff helped me through my first pregnancy wonderfully. With my husband being away with the military Dr. Powers helped him have as much experience with the pregnancy as he could and for that both of us couldn’t be more grateful. Having a long, and often worrisome pregnancy Dr. Powers and his staff helped me every step of the way to a safe delivery and a healthy baby girl.

I came to El Paso after having separated from my husband at 6 months pregnant and didn’t know who to select as my OB. Originally I went with just anyone and that OB turned out to be a bad choice. Dr. Powers was HIGHLY recommended to me, so I switched and I am so happy I did. I am a nurse and was pregnant with my first child. I had been told I would have trouble conceiving. I naturally wanted the best doctor. Dr. Powers was highly recommended by another physician and he exceeded my expectations. He is different than other doctors in that he listens to his patients, is honest and caring. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Powers. His credentials are among the best in El Paso, but his ability to communicate with and understand his patients really sets him apart. I became pregnant with my first child at age 40, and given my age and a scary first month of pregnancy, my husband and I were anxious to find the best doctor that we could. Dr. Powers patiently answered 3 pages of questions that my husband had prepared for our first doctor’s visit. (!) Each visit thereafter, he likewise discussed my many questions and offered the kind of collaborative doctor/patient experience that I had been looking for. As my due date approached, Dr. Powers recommended that I change my birth plan to include a C-section; he knew this was not my first choice, but he took the time to explain his recommendation and he left the decision to me. Thanks to him I feel I made the right choice, and now I have a perfectly healthy daughter and no regrets about the C-section. No doubt all of Dr. Powers’ patients have had a similarly wonderful experience.

Dr. Powers and his staff are absolutely AMAZING!!! I loved the experience of him delivering my baby boy!! I have been a patient of Dr. Powers for 6 years and I could not be any happier with him, I’ve recommended him to family and friends and they are all just as happy. The best part of my care was Dr. Powers being only interested in my care and comfort and taking time to talk to me and not being rushed. I was very pleased with you and your staff. I was not kept waiting you were respectful of my time. I did not see anything that could be changed.

There are several things that I think are great. To start, the waiting time is always about 15 to 20 minutes. I like the fact that I can always call the same nurse and not dfferent ones. I know that everytime I go to the office I will always see Dr. Powers, and last I will always walk out with an appointment.

The staff is always friendly and takes an interest in me not only as a patient, but as a person. The wait to be seen is always minimal but I have never felt I am being rushed out the door.

The best part of my care was that the waiting time to see Dr. Powers was never more than 20 minutes and the staff was super great. All I know is I am glad of being able to have found a GREAT Dr.

The office staff is very polite, professional and a delight to have to encounter. Dr. Powers is very detailed and straightfoward with answers to any questions I have, so to me having a Doctor I trust and who is very informative is the best part of getting care here.
